Michael B. Smeaton Biology Endowment

Endowment established to provide ongoing financial support for the Michael B. Smeaton Biology Scholarship, which awards one annual scholarship to a Biology undergraduate student majoring in the Cellular/Molecular concentration. Must have at least a sophomore standing when receiving funds and have a financial need. Preference will be given to students planning to enter the medical field or graduate school. Michael B. Smeaton Biology Scholarship

A new endowment supporting this scholarship has been created by Margaret Smeaton and Ramsey Hanafi.  You can donate to the new fund here.

Fund established to honor the memory of Cal Poly Humboldt graduate Michael B. Michael G. Scott Distinguished Lecture Series Endowment

Endowment established to provide ongoing financial support for the Michael G. Scott Distinguished Lecture Series--named for a graduate of Cal Poly Humboldt who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries in June 1975, and Cuthbert L. Scott III—which provides significant enhancement to the Fisheries Biology program by facilitating exposure to the ideas of prominent regional, national and international fisheries biologists through the sharing and dissemination of research and information and interaction with students and members of the academic and campus community. Michael died July 6,1987 in Ketchikan, Alaska, where he was serving as a fishery biologist with the U.S. Forest Service, assigned to Misty Fjords National Monument.
