Jack Thompson Hearst Scholarship Endowment

Endowment established to provide ongoing funding for the Jack Thomas Hearst Scholarship. To be eligible, students must be a declared English major, have a GPA of 2.5 or above, demonstrate financial need (based on FAFSA application), and have at least one full-time semester of coursework left to complete in the major. Jacks Social Equity & Accountability (SEA) Scholarship Fund

Fund established to support retention of student-athletes at Cal Poly Humboldt.

James D. and Sara M. Turner Endowment

Endowment established to provide ongoing financial support for the James D. Sara M. Turner Sociology Scholarship, which awards a student pursuing a BA or MA in Sociology who demonstrates a dedication to social justice, teaching, or practicing Sociology with a major GPA of at least 3.25 (BA) or 3.75 (MA), completion of at least 15 hours (BA) or 9 hours (MA) of “SOC” coursework, and financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. James D. and Sara M. Turner Sociology Scholarship

Fund established to award a student pursuing a BA or MA in Sociology who demonstrates a dedication to social justice, teaching, or practicing Sociology with a major GPA of at least 3.25 (BA) or 3.75 (MA), completion of at least 15 hours (BA) or 9 hours (MA) of “SOC” coursework, and financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. James E. Christian II Memorial Endowment

Endowment established to provide ongoing financial support for the James E. Christian II Scholarship, which awards an outstanding student majoring in the biological sciences at Cal Poly Humboldt, with preference given to graduate students, and based on financial need. Must have a current FAFSA or equivalent on file, be a full-time student, and have an average 3.00 GPA. College of Natural Resources & Sciences (CNRS)

Jane and John Drach Scholarship

Your gift to this scholarship supports students who have an interest in the diverse relationships within and between our physical and cultural worlds. Scholarship recipient(s) will receive a minimum of $1,000.

Janet Morlan Environmental Journalism Scholarship

Fund established to provide scholarships to undergraduates majoring in Journalism with a focus in science or environmental journalism, or full-time undergraduates majoring in the Environmental Sciences or Natural Resources and minoring in Journalism, with 3.0 GPA or better and demonstrated financial need. Must commit to completing a 45-hour EcoNews Journalist Internship with the Northcoast Environmental Center during the same academic year that the award is made.

Fund established to provide equipment and research for the Biomechanics and Human Performance labs on campus in the Kinesiology & Recreation Administration department. College of Professional Studies (CPS)

Jay Bower Engineering Research Experience Fund

Fund established to provide undergraduate Engineering students with hands-on learning opportunities by supporting engineering faculty research. Funds must be used to support undergraduate research assistantships and may also be used for other research-related expenses such as equipment purchases, travel stipends for faculty and students, publication costs, etc. College of Natural Resources & Sciences (CNRS)

Jean Wellington Endowment

Endowment established to provide ongoing financial support for the C. Leland Barlow Music Scholarship, begun in 1983 and awarded to the Department of Music’s incoming majors, and the Sequoia Chamber Music Workshop, launched in 1971, which provides young musicians with total immersion in chamber music. Jeffrey S. Navarro Mentorship in Environmental Resource Engineering

Fund established in memory of Jeff Navarro, which recognizes students majoring in Environmental Resources Engineering (ERE) by allowing them to participate in a mentorship program.

Jerry and Gisela Rohde Endowment

Endowment established for ongoing financial support for Cal Poly Humboldt Press and Cal Poly Humboldt Library Special Collections, including internship opportunities and needed supplies.
