(Bill) Tanner--professor of history at Humboldt State University 1970 to 1999, founder of History Day, and author of “A View from the Hill: A history of Humboldt State University"--intended to promote and encourage students pursuing an undergraduate degree in History with a 2.75 or better GPA and demonstrated financial need.
