The Louis H. Wayers Memorial scholarship was established in 1985 from contributions from alumnae and a large contribution from his parents. Louis attended Cal Poly Humboldt as a Forestry major, graduating in June of 1970. Just a few short years after receiving an additional Masters degree in Business Administration from Humboldt in March of 1972, Lou was diagnosed as having Multiple Sclerosis.  Although his conditioned worsened for ten years, his spirits were always high.

Rose Seghetti established this scholarship in the memory of her brother, Armando John Seghetti. Her family immigrated from Italy and settled in Guerneville, CA. She attended Cal Poly Humboldt (then Humboldt State Teachers College) and graduated with her teaching credential in 1925. She enjoyed teaching for forty years. Rose died two months after her 100th birthday. She was a life member of the Alumni Association.
