Students must be currently engaged in an approved undergraduate research project with a Cal Poly Humboldt Chemistry faculty member. Fund established to award a Fisheries Biology graduate student. Preference is given to students engaged in research studies of field-based understandings of the links between freshwater and anadromous fishes and the habitats upon which they depend. Preferred research topics include but are not limited to research on impacts brought about by watershed degradation, exotic species, introductions and pollution. Further preference is given to students working on projects in Northern California and those projects focused upon steelhead, salmon, trout, and striped bass. Your gift to this fund will support registered nurses who already have an associate’s degree to complete their bachelor’s degree in nursing. The additional education will enable nurses to meet new hiring educational requirements some hospitals have implemented which require a BSN degree and allow them to prepare for leadership or advanced clinical training, such as nurse practitioner roles.
