Roberta Luskin-Hawk, MD
Dr. Roberta Luskin-Hawk serves as Chief Executive, St. Joseph Health, Humboldt County; leading St. Joseph Hospital – Eureka, a 139 bed regional medical center which incorporates Level III Trauma, CV surgery, advanced cancer care; and Redwood Memorial Hospital, a 25 bed critical access hospital. Dr. Luskin-Hawk has been a hospital CEO since 2009. Prior to her current role, Dr. Luskin-Hawk served as Regional President & CEO for Presence Saint Joseph Hospital – Chicago and Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston.
Dr. Luskin-Hawk’s administrative career followed a clinical career as an Infectious Disease specialist, educator, NIH-funded clinical researcher and physician leader. Her work has been recognized by the Catholic Health Association Mid-Career Award and by Becker’s Hospital Review as One of 50 Women Who Demonstrate Outstanding Leadership and One of 300 Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know.
Her commitment to nurses on the frontlines and to the residents of Humboldt County was never more apparent than during the COVID-19 virus outbreak.
Her focus and dedication to the extraordinary rural healthcare that she observed and expanded upon since her arrival in early 2017 inspired the creation of this scholarship as a way to support her and the local healthcare community.
