About

Endowment established in honor of Dr. Robert E. Kelly, the first Head Coach of the Men’s Soccer program at Humboldt, to provide ongoing financial support for the Robert E. Kelly Mentors Scholarship, which awards student athletes participating in the intercollegiate sport of Men’s Soccer. Student athletes must be in good academic standing per standards of the university and of Intercollegiate Athletics and demonstrate financial need.

Dr. Robert E. Kelly mentored his student athletes with an emphasis on three principles: the importance of a college education, dedication to self-improvement, and a commitment to collective effort. These principles have been carried forward and remain central to the mentoring done by the program’s coaches. This Fund helps support this mentoring by financing The Robert E. Kelly Mentors Scholarship for selected student athletes in financial need. The scholarship will be for at least one student at a minimum of $1,000, annually. As the Fund grows, more students and/or the scholarship recipients will benefit from larger distribution amounts available.
