Endowment established to provide ongoing financial support for field experiences with an emphasis on, but not limited to, undergraduate student education and experiential learning within the Geology department programs at Cal Poly Humboldt. College of Natural Resources & Sciences (CNRS)

The Longshore Field Geology Endowment is dedicated to John Longshore, PhD, who was a co-founder and professor of the geology department at Humboldt State University from 1965 to 2005. John was a field geologist and petrologist, who loved working in volcanic terranes. His passion was teaching students; he was dedicated to helping students learn to work in the field and become critical thinkers. He taught numerous field camps in the Schell Creek Range and Roberts Mountains of Nevada and Mazourka Canyon in Owens Valley, CA.
